Overview

NEBRAS AI is an active artificial intelligence venture with a presence across multiple markets in the Middle East and North Africa. Founded by Ahmad Athamneh, it represents his ongoing involvement in building and operating technology-driven solutions across the region.

NEBRAS — Arabic for a lamp or beacon — applies artificial intelligence to education technology. It is designed for educational institutions and large-scale education environments, combining AI-supported learning with the administrative and analytical infrastructure that schools and systems need to operate well.

Industry context

Education systems are asked to deliver personalised learning to very large numbers of students with finite teaching time. Teachers carry heavy administrative loads, institutions often run disconnected systems, and the data that could inform better decisions is fragmented or unused.

Generative and adaptive AI offer new possibilities — individual tutoring at scale, faster feedback, earlier identification of students who need support — but only if they are embedded in sound pedagogy, governed responsibly and designed to strengthen the role of teachers rather than diminish it.

Areas of focus

  • 01

    AI tutoring

Conversational support that explains, questions and encourages, aligned to the curriculum.

  • 02

    Adaptive learning

Learning paths that adjust to each student's progress and areas of difficulty.

  • 03

    Teacher portals

Tools for planning, assessment and feedback that return time to teaching.

  • 04

    Student management

Administrative records, attendance and communication in one coherent system.

    Virtual classrooms

Live and blended learning spaces connected to the wider platform.

  • 07

    Academic analytics

Dashboards that surface trends and students who may need support early.

  • 08

    Data infrastructure

A governed educational data layer with privacy protections appropriate to minors.

  • 09

    Institutional integration

Interoperability with existing school and ministry systems.

  • 10

    Personalised experience

Arabic-first content and interfaces adapted to learners' needs and contexts.

Strategic vision

The vision for NEBRAS AI is a unified, Arabic-first learning environment in which each student receives guidance suited to their pace, each teacher gains time and insight, and each institution can see — clearly and responsibly — how learning is progressing.

It is built as infrastructure for institutions rather than a standalone consumer app: integrated with existing systems, respectful of curricula and policy, and protective of the data of children and young people.

Founder's role

Founder's role

As Founder, Ahmad leads NEBRAS AI's strategy, platform vision and partnerships with educators and institutions. The venture draws on his experience building digital platforms and working on large-scale service systems, applied to a sector where the users are often children and the stakes are generational.
